Interested in joining or contributing to Soapbox? We invite you to an informal get together at Vox-Pop from 4.30pm on Tuesday 7th May, where you can get to know more about us and learn how to get involved!
Soapbox is a journal for cultural analysis run by and providing a platform for students, PhDs and young researchers. In the past year, our editorial board, web team and designers have published a research journal; launched a website posting academic and multimedia content; given a workshop at the Sandberg; arranged interviews with scholars and artists; sent writers to review workshops, new publications, exhibitions and festivals; and developed a community of researchers, writers and creators both young and more established.
But there is still a lot more that Soapbox could do and be. The project is not set in stone. Many of our team will soon be leaving the university, so this is your chance to carry on the project! There is space for all sorts of skills – whether you already have them or want to develop them – so we are looking for writers, editors, board members, web developers, program makers, designers and more.
Whether you are interested in running an academic journal, publishing your work, collaborating on a project, or you are generally curious about what we do, we would love to meet you!
If you can’t make it to the meeting, or if you just want to have a one-to-one chat with one of us and see what possibilities suit your interests best, please contact us at info[at]soapboxjournal[dot]com.
